Hi. Even without an image, I'll venture that it is of Chinese origin, from your description. If it wasn't very cheap, I fear you paid too much.

I bought a bee paperweight almost as long ago for 12 dollars from a Hallmark store. Mine has a pink flower in addition to the leaves and it's Chinese.

I'm still quite fond of it.
I collect Scottish and Italian paperweights and anything else that strikes my fancy.

Hi thank you for replies
my weight is very similar to the bee picture above except my two bees are hovering high up and not low above leaves, so it may be Chinese then, I would like to research the Chinese paperweights, anyone know any good links? And yes they are very collectable as they look and feel good quality and are so eye catching a lot of people comment on my only one. not sure if I can afford to collect though, how accessable are they to buy and where would you start. Can you swap and sell, what sort of price do they start at ? I'm surfing the net see if i can find out.

Hi.  There is not a lot documented about Chinese paperweights.  I have a little on my website including a picture of a weight with two bees.

Regards
