Congratulations Tony [and your wife], what a good idea. I can't help identify it but think that your idea is great. New Zealand is an interesting place for finding glass.
It is challenging, though because it is not a populous country and the population centres are separated by mountains, water, hills or lots of road. We don't have car boot sales. buying over the local internet [Trademe], whilst relatively inexpensive, is very dicy because sellers, [myself included], still need to  learn how to see and describe what they are selling carefully and faithfully.
However we have migrants from all over the world, who brought their glass with them. We [and Oz] have most of the, rare, orange, cloud glass in the world, owing to a certain set of circumstances.
We have a thriving community of contemporary glass artists, not least Gary Nash, the Hoglunds, Anne Robinson, to name a few.
So perhaps us NZ glass aficionados could have an NZ glass conference. Perhaps we do already and I just don't know??

photo 14-17 on your "unknown glass "page = the spun thread vase is most probably by Sea Glasbruk, design Rune Strand.

Fascinating iridised piece, Tony. It's not a "known" item (not to me anyhow!) Do you have any information on it at all?

Some nice pieces Tony. You should be pleased. Sorry I can't help with ID but I am curious about your use of the name ? term ? Charlesware. What does it signify ? The piece looks Czech 1950's to me.

See Site contributors and their books... topic at the Glass Marketplace for details of books by Ivo and other author members here.

Hi Peter
Thank you. I agree with Czech 1950s, the term Charlesware is printed on the base of the bottle with the words Hand Painted have a look at photo, who decorated it and where ?
