Please view my photobucket links to view this beauty, which is plaguing me for identification :spls:
The large globular vase has been optic moulded within its inside only to dramatic affect. I at fuirst thought this piece to be a design by Max Kannegiesser for Borske Sklow, however though I am aware that this company merged with others during c1953, on closwer inspection there is a stenciled mark to the base of the vase: MADE IN BELGIUM and so am wondering???
The vase is large at 7.5" high with a widest diam of 9" and the top rim has a very subtle ripple-effect to its fir-polished edge. There are no moulding lines and so I can assume also that the vase was mould blown before then being internally plunged, before final adjustments were made to the top. There is evidence on the base of a small polished pontil, which may add soime cred, to my own observations??? :spls:
Your help with this one would be gratefully received and I thank you. Jazz
