Not porcelain or pottery, think it's vitroporcelain, chryoprase is the mineral I think they use to add to produce this material,

going to stick my neck on the block with this one Keith..........
Chrysoprase is the name given to a naturally occuring apple green chalcedony - something to do with the agates, I think - a semi precious stone.  In the C19 the name Chrysoprase was given to a glass product with a matt surface and containing Uranium  -  on the assumption that the semi-opaque glass (looking green) appeared similar to the mineral.    So your piece has nothing to do with Chrysoprase  -  but may well be vitroporcelain.   From experience, if it is a piece is pottery it will often have a matt pottery like foot ring, if it is glass the piece will usually be very smooth all over.

It looks like it could be blanc de chine to me. I had a vase that looked like glass, but it was blanc de chine, also known as China white. It is a type of porcelain. It's difficult to tell from the picture if the pitcher is ceramic or milk glass.

Thanks Anita, definite not blanc-de chine have seen that type of porcelain and this is crude by comparison,it's a bit odd this one somewhere between milk glass and vitroporcelain, will have to google some more,

Keith

I see these jugs quite often and they are glass with out doubt, I always think that the figures are Pan, I also see them in black , and I always thought that they are Victorian pressed glass
