Jar and cups, what is it exactly?
« on: May 20, 2010, 10:26:49 AM »
Hello everybody,

I'm new to this forum as well as to "collecting" glass. In my case, i wouldn't really call it collecting anyway. After renovating our house and redecorating it with new furniture, my wife and i decided to visit some French "vide greniers" to find some nice ceramics and glassware.

Unfortunately, after searching the internet and reading some books, i still don't know what these jar and cups actually are.
I see no marks and I can't find a seam. So i think it should be hand blown. I have no idea about age, style or glass type.

Fortunately, i found this messageboard and i hope someone can point me in the right direction. I'm really curious, but the most important thing is we like it.

Just last weekend i found a similar small vase. The kind that can hold on or two flowers. It is slightly different in color, a bit more red, and that vase has some kind of mark(?). It looks like a K with above and underneath a _. Also after the K is something that looks like IDT. Across the pontil mark is an S or 8.

The foto's are made with a phone, so the quality is not perfect.

Best regards,
Michael
