hi,dont know what you call these,my mum said she's had it since i was born so its 45,its a big one 14 1/2 cm tall,didnt realise till yesterday it wasnt proper red its a orangy red when its held up to the light,thanks kaz

the age is absolutely correct - circa 1965.  The purpose was for keeping cotton wool on your dressing table. And the origin is Empoli.
