Triangular vase with sandndblasted rear
« on: June 16, 2010, 04:48:21 AM »
Hi:

One of my "I wonder what that really is" acquisitions from eBay. I've seen a few of them for sale, advertised as Skrdlovice (Not), Magnor (Unlikely), or Murano (You must be joking).
This one was cheap enough to take the plunge and check it out. It's quite impressive in a way, but I'm not yet convinced. 10" tall, quite heavy, matte finish on two sides and base (sandlblasted?).

Help put me out of my misery of not knowing.

Thanks.

David

I have no idea either. There has been a question on the board about them in the last year or so but I can't find it now....

David (i.e. me):

A little research in Diane Foulds,  Czech Glass would show you that this piece was made by Jizera Glass (Jizerské Sklo) in Lučany nad Nisou in the 1990's. No designer is given.

Good luck,

David

David,
you are managing to answer some of your own questions to some degree, which is quite a feat!!! But the designer seems elusive, this vase occurs on Jindra's site without a designer being identified either.... however since it is quite a recent vase, the designer should be identifiable at some point, if not right now....
