Scandinavian? Purple Vase
« on: June 20, 2010, 06:04:21 PM »
Hello, I have just bought this purple vase which I think may be Riihimaki but am not sure.  It measures 23cm tall and I have put photos of the base and top on.   An id would be great.   Thanks.

It's not a shape I recognise as Riihimaki, sorry I can't be more constructive. Have a look through this lot: http://www.designlasi.com/en/esinehaku?keys=&tid_2=23&tid_5=All&tid_1=All&tid_3=48&tid_4=All

Hi John, thanks for the link - that's really interesting to look through.   I will keep looking through my books and hopefully find out more about my new vase.   Thanks for your interest.   Best wishes, Kerry. :)

Hi John, I have been looking for similar vases since I last posted on here and am wondering if it could be by Aseda.  I have found a similar vase but am unable to copy the photo here.   It has a similar shape in the glass?  Any ideas? It has a scandinavian look about it doesn't it (?).  Best wishes,   :) Kerry.

I have a few Bo Borgstrom vases Aseda and it does bear a similarity with those in some ways.  Perhaps worth searching for examples of?

Hi, thanks for the response.  I will look into it when I get the chance.   I think it is a good possibility.   Best wishes, Kerry. :kissy:
