Twist stem drinking glass...Antique or repro' ?
« on: June 25, 2010, 09:34:59 AM »

Is this antique?, Georgian?, English? or a more recent reproduction.

Not being my usual area I've done a little reseach, but really need some more experienced opinions.

approx. 14cm (5 1/2") high, formed in three parts with simple opaque double twist stem, conical foot with snapped pontil scar and fine wear to foot edge. Slightly grey tone to glass with some seeds, small bubbles and very handmade look, fairly finely blown and a nice clear ring. Rim has larger diameter than the foot.

I'm pretty sure it has some age, but 25 or 250 years...??

Martyn.
