Mystery animal candle or toothpick holder ID

Hi everyone
I was hoping someone might recognise this strangπe animal candle of toothpick holder. Made in a mould with a ground pontil, this is 5.5 cms high and 8 cms long. Any info appreciated.

My guess would be that it is a hedgehog, especially once it has toothpicks in it.  No idea on maker sorry.

Wow, I would have assumed asian.   I too am thinking toothpicks were to packed in there. Looks like a gorilla or a bear to me.

I don't think asian...looks Scandi. Any chance of putting up a pic of the rim/opening? What is the weight on it?

I must admit it looks cute and would make a perfect tooth pick holder...

Thanks to everyone who has posted so far. The weight is 250 grams. I am thinking Pukeberg is on the money but still cant find anything anywhere to confirm.
