hello stephen - assume you bought the piece because you like it, which is how it should be

- Off the cuff I haven't a clue from whence this comes, and posting on the GMB, as you may be aware, incurs both adulation and criticism - so be prepared

In terms of objective critiscism, I am worried that the base wear appears (at least in your picture) to be showing as incomplete around the base. This may indicate an inexpensive and perhaps far eastern origin or possibly, with the indented base maybe eastern european. That base rim seems also not to have been polished, and shows a rough ground surface. The main outer surface of the vase we might call 'textured' (I appreciate it is not a woven textile image) but this is an abstract uneven surface, so think we might get away with that description here - but I stand to be corrected.

. As a guide to your being successful with a maker/origin (at least with the GMB) it does really depend on someone finding your design/pattern in a book somewhere, or remembering having seen the piece in Ikea/Marks & Spencer/T K Max/Harrods - and if that doesn't happen, you may have a problem, so fingers crossed.
