Topic: VEB glass bell ornament ruby cut to clear - label

Not really my cup of tea, but it is the same technique as the doors in our hall so presumably one of the reasons I picked it up perhaps -  It is also labelled so that may be another - anyway it is going on our favourite auction site now, but I thought I would ask some questions about it first.
I was wondering how this cut to clear was done?  Is it a very specialised skill and is this a good example?
I gather VEB glass was started in 1952 and have read the history that is available on the net, but I wondered whether anyone knew from this label, which company this may have come from?

Be aware the VEB only means people's owned company (Volks Eigener Betrieb), so that's only half the name and you have to be sure you are talking about the right one (there were several sate-owned glass concerns). What does the rest of the label say?

oops- that label isn't very clear.  It reads kunst-u-gebrauchsglaser and then along the bottom 'GEHREN/TH' or GEHRENITH - having looked further that obviously reads GEHREN/TH and from what I gather Gehren is a place in Thuringia, so this is Gehren Glass then I guess?
