Massive, heavy blue bowl... Egermann? Post-Czechoslovakia?
« on: August 09, 2010, 04:55:25 PM »
I got this very massive and heavy blue-cased-in-clear bowl today.  Not quite my thing, but for a whole 1 zloty, who could resist?

It's not as circular in shape as my photos might show.  It measures 43cm at its widest (39cm at its smallest), is 9,5cm high and weighs over 4kg.  The base is polished flat with very little wear.

I believe it is Czech...  am I right?  (Egermann? Post-Czechoslovakia?)

Thank you  :)

There is a wee bit of similarity to this bowl which was labeled Egermann. http://www.amazon.com/Egermann-Glass-Bowl-Chech-Republic/dp/B00350G11Y.  Can't say it's enough similarity to be conclusive though.

Hmmm...  don't know if that brings me any closer to an ID, but I do appreciate your effort, Buck.  Thank you  :kissy:

In all fairness, I also bought another bowl from the same seller...  Though it is different style-wise, it is also 43cm wide and has an "Egermann Czech Republic" label attached.  Here are two pictures of it (forgive the quality of the photos and the fruit inside the bowl  :spls:)

P.S.  It also cost me a whole zloty (i.e. about 20 pence  ;D)

Hi Anik R.

Both lovely bowls -- I can't help you with the ID, but I like the twisted base on the first one.......and the Fruit in the other bowl looks good too  !!
 ;)
