Hi Rose :)
I don't know what this container would have been used for, nor do I know its origins, but I must say it is terribly pretty...  and what a glow!  Lovely!

Would it have been for some kind of body cream/face cream?

Or maybe for toothpicks on your dressing table or in the bathroom: not the dining table though, as those are usually open. Nice one Rose.

Hi there:

Now I am just going to *throw* something out there.....if it is a catch (fine), if not (let it drop to the floor)....

Now too long ago while Ebay drooling, I had saw a little round box thing much like this (and it too glowed).  Forget what it was called.  But what stuck out in my mind -- was it had (I think) a *Red and Black Ribbon scroll type* label on it.  I forget the words that were on it -- but something like either Venetian, or the name Nason on it.  It was much like this, except wider, and not as tall.  It had a lid on it too.  It was not clear glass either, but this cloudy, Opaline type of glass.

That is part of the reason I bought this.  I thought it reminded me of the other -- and maybe (maybe, maybe) it was UV venetian glass.  Do you know the label I am referring to?  Or the item that was listed on Ebay.  I remember it had only gone for $9.99 and had only one bid.  I know I HAD written down the # for that item on Ebay (within the last 3 weeks) but what I did with the number -- is beyond me.

Maybe I can still find the number to show you what I meant....

To make a Long story - Longer.....this reminded me of that item. :spls:

Could this be a Jewelry casket ??  Or it is for the bedroom, or the Kitchen -- or what...???

:hi: :fwr: wonder who would do such a thing Rose!  :nogos:   :wsh:

Yeah -- I wonder..... :pb: Anne  :pb:  ;)

Could this be a Jewelry casket ??

I don't think it is...  my only reasoning is that with my short, fat fingers, I wouldn't be able to fetch what's at the bottom of the jar -- I'd have to tip the whole contents out to get what I need.   :-\

Was this the label Rose?
http://glassgallery.yobunny.org.uk/displayimage.php?pos=-1931

Yes that is what I mean, when I say I had saw one on Ebay something like this (and had that label).  It was similar to mine in color, glow, just more stockier, and wider....and it had a lid too.

I am just *throwing* that out there as a *possibility* ????????

LOL....but maybe IF older -- they did not have the *items* that we have now days....LOL.  I do not know, just talking out loud.  Maybe for Hair Pins -- those long, long ones...??

Nason is not impossible, but I think the green is too dark.
