Enamelled lemon variegated glass - ID help.
« on: August 22, 2010, 08:53:50 PM »
This was my find today for 5.00.

I have seen this style of “enamelled lemon variegated glass” many times before but I am not certain they have ever been attributed to a particular maker other than Bohemian. A poster on eBay suggested Moser or Harrach.

Details are here on my blog: http://bohemianglasscollector.blogspot.com/

Thank you.
Mac

I believe there are some types of this glass in the Passau museum that have been attributed to Moser but most of what I've seen on ebay, including some in my own collection are not high enough in quality to be from that particular factory, again no real help sorry ::)

Thanks Keith.

I just checked Deb Truitts book, Collectible Bohemian Glass 1880-1940 - is Welz a possibility? (I know that some of the attributions in that book have changed since it was published).

I have a couple of similar vases that I've been unable to attribute. Mine glow orange under black light, so are probably colored with cadmium. Baldwin attributes some lemon glass to Moser in his books. None that I have seen look like Moser to me. They are too lightweight and simple. Alfredo has some shown under Jugendstil glass, but not attributed at http://sites.google.com/site/loetzandglass/czech-jugendstil--other-makers.

I have never found one with uranium in though I have seen one on ebay (and I check all that I come across), so this is not a run of the mill one. I would definitely rule out Moser though.
