Topic: Pressed figural Candlesticks - ID help please -

Hello everyone,
These matt black beauties were impossible for me to ignore and are a recent acquisition.
I have looked at a few online sites but have not had any luck finding out when and where they were made.
They stand just under 7 7/16" high and the diameter of the base is around the 4 1/8" mark.
There are no makers marks or numbers that I can find on them.
As you can see the detail is quite fine; with the beautifully draped skirt and plated belt
Any suggestions?

My gut reaction would be that they are from the USA.

Those are different, apart from colour

The vendor described them as very dark purple, so I assumed they were similar to some plinths but as yet we have not had sunlight strong enough to penetrate the glass.

Hello Everyone,
there was a recent auction on E-bay for an identical pair of these candlesticks  ( item number 140629083123)
The vendor describes these as   " A pair of black glass candlesticks with a frosted finish in the shape of semi nude Egyptian maidens with urns on their heads. These are art deco style, produced recently in Poland by glass companies who actually designed some of the original deco glass ladies. Not to mislead anyone because this exact style was never made in the 1930s, but to continue the manufacture of these popular glass items into the modern day."

I cannot comment about that they were recently produced in Poland, but I do have the same candlesticks in amber. So they are found in more than one colour

I have see pictures of amber coloured ones, they too are very attractive.
The description in the auction got me to wondering what other similar pieces these Polish glass companies may be producing - I certainly haven't seen anyone marketing these items or any similar in NZ although the Department stores have plenty of glass wares from all over the world.
