Green Art Deco pressed vase HELP PLS!
« on: September 03, 2010, 12:47:26 PM »

Out of my comfort zone, but fell in love with this.  19.5 cms ( 7.75 inches)tall:
16.5 cms ( 6.5 inches) diameter at rim. Six "lenses" around circumference which measure 3 inches diameter each. Star base.  Heavy, weighs 1.855 Kg. Believe pressed - can't see any mould lines.  Haven't found my black light so not sure if it glows.  Help please!

sorry to hear you're a bit off colour Emmi - here's hoping you feel a lot better today :fwr:  -  maybe Pamela will have the time to look in (I can't see yours in the ovious section on vases).    I know what you mean, it's very easy to get hooked on some of this pressed glass - there was a piece in Eastbourne (U.K.) that I left behind yesterday, now I could kick myself, it was a real 'corker'

Eastbourne huh?  Near me! Are you going to spill the beans on location? :24: Or are you hot footing it back to East Sussex?

Just came across two vases in Pamela's Walther Vase section, which although not the same, bear some similarities........pattern names:  Atlas  and Relief?  So could they be from the Walther stable?

quote today ........'Just came across two vases in Pamela's Walther Vase section, which although not the same, bear some similarities........pattern names:  Atlas  and Relief?  So could they be from the Walther stable?........er, I know I'm Mr. Thicky  -  but if they are in the Walther section, wouldn't they be er............. Walther............OR, did you mean, might yours be Walther because of the similarties to known Walther pieces on Pamela's site ;D.
Perhaps you are not feeling completely better yet.  Maybe you need some more sea air. >:D

Dear Mr. Thicky..................yes, and I will say this very slowly, the two vases in Pamela's Walther vase section, are indeed Walther!!! Unless Pamela has also had a bad day!!!  And yes, I am saying the similiarities to mine, make me think MINE may also be Walther.  :spls:( of course, if I had correctly put "it" instead of "they" in my post, then I would not have confused the easily confused! LOL!) Sorry!

But pressed glass is not my normal collecting thing, so I may well be right off track so just hoping Pamela will come along and take a look.

I'd have thought the base treatment of mine would be a big clue to the experts here, but maybe the right expert has not taken a look :'(
