Has anyone mentioned St John's Glass from the Isle of Man?  I have a few pieces that look for all the world like pieces of IOW glass, and the triangular label is the same size and shape as the IOW glass labels. So could it be that?
I was going to mention Phoenician Glass, but you pipped me to the post!
Night night as it is very late!

Hi, do you have a pic (measurements) of these label??  Thanks.... :kissy:

Ooo Er!!   Apologies.... I have just looked at them and they are all Isle of Wight!!! I'm Rich!!  I could have sworn that some of them said St John's Crystal Isle of Man,  but the ones like that are all circular labels!!  Sorry Rose,  :-[

Sorry Rose.  I was wrong, I was right!! :rah:

St John's Crystal Isle of Man does have a triangular label...1.5cm + 1.5cm.

I have tried to download it but it is too big so have asked Ann if I can send it to her to modify and load for me.....it is on a little glass ellie, the same shape as the IOW ones I have, but in a lovely red mottled glass.  I am sure I have some more somewhere....I will go and have another look.

thanks Rosieposie....

Did you measure yours?  Did they make iridescent stuff like the penguin?  I will have to do some googling here to see what i can find.

thanks a zillion :kissy: :kissy: , so you think it might be that one....gosh, so many triangular labels.  Really makes one think about adding the sizes of the label when they are posted in the glass gallery.  If we gonna collect samples of labels, might as well be one step ahead and post the size it is too....making the references in the gallery have a +++ advantage

Nice idea to maybe think about...or to keep in mind.

*** Polite Bump ***

Still nothing on this Penguin, BUT I did happen to find something that did look similar See HERE.  Looks very, very much the same iridescent, and motted white there too.

No maker there, but they call the white blotches *Snow Spots* and state pre-1980???

So thought this *might* help a bit.................as this post is still a Mystery   :ho:  At least we can see another animal in this same type of design, etc....and maybe down the road that will help to find more info.   :X:

Thanks

Hi Rose,  I have got an 'ellie' just like this bird that I always assumed was Heron Glass,  but I bought it over here in UK.....would a picture help if I posted one, as the finish seems so similar??

Hi Rose,  I have just seen this on eBay,  and it has a triangular label, and lots of similarities to your penguin.....it is Phoenician!!  Lookie look:-

Am I the only one still trying to find the maker of this lovely penguin??

Here are the pictures of the ellies I have that might help.  I think the larger dark iridescent on and the white one are Heron glass and the little one was bought from the USA and is apparently Mount St Helen's glass.
