Topic: Two Murano vases?

I'm new to the glass world so hi everyone! I'm collecting a few pieces here and there picked these up at a pretty good price, I think they are Murano Vases.

Wondering if anyone could give me more information.

I rather think they might both be Chinese. We need sizes and base shots to help further. You also better posting one item per thread and using the board's attach facility for pictures.

A 2nd for not Murano.  Based on what's pictured the upper one looks better done but I'm in agreement with Christine with regards to probable origins for both.

Both are not Murano. The first is Chinese. The second is probably also Chinese.

I wernt sure about the second one but I thought it might of been something else, I'll just show the first ones base etc first of all then.

3 Inches wide at the bottom and 7 inches tall roughly.

Each perhaps, together no, because the retail price is probably the same or more. Murano is a minefield because everyone claims everything is Murano.

I was in TK Maxx yesterday, and they have similar new glass there.  I have to say, some of it is really gorgeous, huge sizes and fab colours..........and very reasonably priced too.  Didn't buy 'cos I like some provenance to my glass, but it is certainly stylish!

Thanks guys, So how would I tell if these was real murano vases by looking at the base? Is the base normally flat and smooth without the cut out dip??
I wonder why these had a cut outs in the bottom? I picked these both up from the charity shop so I was guessing more than anything. Took the risk and lost I need to study more.

Apart from that the red vase does have a nice smooth base but I can't see it being anything else damn chinese vases! Yep I payed £20 for the pair.
