Heavy cut glass bowl - strange shape
« on: September 29, 2010, 01:06:13 PM »
Here's something else I found at Cambridge - also in a charity shop, rather than at the Glass Fair  ::)

It's deeply but simply cut, on a heavy mould-blown (apparently) blank, with a large polished out pontil mark and has some age-related wear on the base.  It's 6 inches (15cm) tall, 8 inches (20cm) long, and 4.25 inches (just under 11cm) across the widest part, and unfortunately has no identifying makers mark  :-\

Anyone any idea of its origins?  Thanks   :)
Leni
