While doing a search for Japanese glass (because Steven kindly suggested that my unidentified bark vase -- http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,39531.0.html -- may be made in Japan), I came across this labeled vase: http://cgi.ebay.ph/RAINBOW-COLOURS-KAMEI-GLASS-VASE-JAPAN-1960sHEAVY-GLAS-/170583281581

To me it looks like this one could have the same origin as your vases -- both shape and colour scheme are very similar.
Might be Kamei Glass, Japan then :)

My immediate thought for this was Japanese. I would not be at all surprised. It's quality glass, a step above mass-produced Chinese glass, is heavy and well finished, but which often doesn't have the clarity of European glass.
