these would be exactly " my cup of tea " - what do you think about the glass - i am quite sure they have been engraved at stourbridge - but what else could be said about them .. ?

Could you not simply lift the top and pour the wine in that way?  ::)

Michael's wine goes into his "Allister Malcolm" Claret jug, hence into one of his "Allister Malcolm" wine goblets.

designed, (dare I say it?) by Allister with a few suggestions from me.   :sm:  Just a little bit excusive. :tof:

Not into me. I haven't touched a drop in almost 20 years.

yes, surely the short digit on the hand applies pressure to those projections, thus hinging and levering the lid back in one movement  -  thereby providing an orifice through which the booze may be poured.
But Thomas, surely with that sort of value, you would never use them, would you?    What if, slightly peed, you damaged one - wouldn't that be unforgivable. ;)     How many people these days continue the habit of decanting their wines.    I don't - it goes straight from the bottle into the glass into the body. :)

Paul,  ;D    my brain cannot currently do the "put together" bit of 2 + 2. They remain, floating quite seperately, all on their digity ownsomes. I am not yet back on planet earth following the amazing Glass Conference in Edinburgh last weekend. You may mock any mistakes I make - I just don't care, my head is still far too full of wonderful new stuff all fighting to find permanent places to reside to worry about it!  :P

Thomas, I think it's great that you use your jugs. It's what they're for; it's the proper way to appreciate and respect them to their fullest extent. You are part of their history and even if some dmamge may occur (I sincerely hope it does not) that would also become part of it's history.
