hi there i recently brought this vase for just the way it looks but now I'm kind of wondering where it came from ie maker country etc and was it a good buy at £4 , many thanks in advance for any feed back you can offer

Your pic is a bit small, I can't make out any details clearly, but it is very reminiscent of contemporary Polish work - I have a similar tall vase I bought in TKMaxx. I think I paid ~ £9 for it.
