White frosted pressed glass figural flower dome - Czech
« on: October 24, 2010, 03:33:20 PM »
Does anyone know who might have made this pretty little gal?  She's marked "Made in Czechoslovakia" on the base, which was incredibly difficult to spot.  I'm guessing she dates back to the 1920-30s judging by her hairstyle.
TIA :)

That's an unusual one Anne, I'm sure someone will recognise it soon.  Would it have stood in a matching bowl?

Anne, that's a very interesting one, I think I've got the matching white bowl! Can not find it in pavillon pages, return to you with a picture tomorrow.
You see part of it in the background left - I always wondered which flower support could sit in that ball shaped base  ;D

I'm also looking forward to seeing the pictures of the pair of them.
I thought the frog was stunning until I saw the bowl......

Cheers

Anne's figure dome arrived today - here are some (poor) first quick shots  :)

The dome is larger than expected and does not slot completely into, but sits tightly with his small feet within the upper small staired rim of the well.
Proportions and glass colour are perfect, I'd say.

Now as I also managed to make out that faint mark MADE IN CHECOSLOVAKIA of the dome, I know what to look for and shall inspect the bowl again.

Thank you so much again, Anne  :kissy:

Hi Pamela
This bowl you show with the domed lady in?
I have in the past-only in photos-seen this bowl with a different flower frog in it.
It is a tall vase type piece with an intergrated frog at the base and the main part is decorated with birds and foliage.Sue Metcalf of Black poppy has a photo of the flower frog in plain frosted glass under the misc items pages-it's near the bottom of the page.
Don't know if this may shed some light on the subject?
