is this a reject 'Gozo'.

For whatever reason I don't see much of this on the board - rather 'kitsch' and touristy perhaps??  Is it still produced??    This seems a bit sub-standard - externally the base is cut to clear showing the signature - and the inside has wisps of black dirt (?) and lots of black seeds in the clear part, giving very much a 'seconds' look.     However it does have the correct sticker.    Maximum thickness of the base is 14mm  -  and of the sides, 8mm.   Diameter is 152mm and height is 58mm. The whole of the inside has a substantial thickness of clear glass.    Great colours under the light.    Does it look like a 'seconds' anyone think.?    thanks for looking.

thanks - you're right of course, I forgot to look to see if there was a web site.    Have now looked and although there doesn't appear to be a bowl currently showing  -  the colourway seems to be 'Sea'.

Hi Paul, thought that colourway looked slightly familiar, can't remember if I've seen it on their website or eBay. I emailed Gozo glass a while back through their website, must say they were pretty helpful and quick to get back.

my pics. don't really show what I thought was the somewhat questionable interior of the bowl  -  rather too many black seeds, and those whispish looking trails of dirt that made me think of a 'seconds' - and the base thickness of 14mm, I thought remarkable.      I have seen Gozo before, but infrequently, and the only piece I own is a quite small bird.    In fact when you have a largish piece like this, you get to appreciate the beauty of the colours, particularly with some light behind.   Don't think I would acquire any more, but will keep this as a good example of 'Sea'. :)

Think that is quite normal for Gozo (certainly the bits I have handled), the inside of the vessels feels rough and almost grainy and there can be black bits mixed in. The outside surface where the pattern is a different story.
