Ive not seen anything like this before so had to buy it. I cant even make a guess at this one.It is about 23cm in length the diameter of the pan is 14 cm.
Does any one have an idea of its origins, age purpose?
Many thanks ,
David

Nemmie:
That is bizarre why would you make a glass pan that you can't put over any heat. Maybe it is for passing something around or shovelling something out.

misha:
Doesn't look like any type of functional cookware I've seen and I've been around commercial kitchens in my time.
Doesn't look like distortion from use on a hob.   No wear from use either. Well how would you use it having a reverse pouring rim that aims at the users hands!

Perhaps it's some sort of ironic statement artglass piece?

david31162:
Thank you Misha and Nemmie,
I agree odd isnt it! It does have wear though, quite a bit but in rings on the base (slightly uneven base).
I'll have a try pouring with it...... Ok, had a go. It fits surprisingly comfortably in the hand and seems to encourage a swirling action with liquid (perhaps avoiding splashes on the hand). It also tips quite well to the side, into a glass. Could it be for warming a drink?
Or is it just a novelty ?
Still unsure?   What about age? Origin?
David
