« on: November 15, 2010, 10:47:10 AM »
Purchased this handmade blown glass posy bowl yesterday thought it was a striking piece that i realy have fallen in love with it is 3.25" tall and 9" in diameter the very small bottom section of the foot has been applied after the main piece was formed the base is well worn from use would love to know how old it is?? Also feel it has a continental feel too it could anyone by chance confirm where? Thanks for looking.

Love it!!!!!!  The size of the flat bit is very large for just a vase.  I wonder if it had a use for food.  Eg.  Toothpicks in the vase bit, and cheese on the flat part.  My twisted mind also thoughts of those round cakes with a hole in the middle.

Nevertheless I would have bought it in a flash too.

I think it could well be a vase. It has the same proportions as a mushroom-shaped posy vase.
