Topic: Lead crystal vase - Arts & Crafts?

What Ho! Can anyone help me to identify this lovely vase. It is 7 3/4" tall and is made of reasonably fine (not thick) lead crystal. The foot and stem have age related striation and a ground pontil where as the bowl looks fine quality with little striation. TIA Wolfie

hello Wolfie  -  intriguing vase.   There is a great deal of difference between 'striae' and 'wear'  -  and not quite sure which you mean.   Are you saying the foot has age related wear, or do you really mean striation.
Sorry I can't give you the answers you want.............the applied 'bits' might be described variously as hot worked decoration.......slightly OTT Venetian Revival.....stylistic 'gadrooning'.    In view of the ground pontil, I am prepared to put my head on the block and give you a date range of 1880 to 1920 as a rough guide.   Let's hope you have an (un-named) expert come along quite soon

What Ho Paul! Sorry i didn't describe that very well. What I meant to say was that the foot reminded me of something from the late Vic period, having that rustic striation look about it where as the bowl is beautiful clear striation free lead crystal. I wasn't talking about age related wear.
I agree with you on your date estimate. Thanks for your opinion.
