Uranium Animals, Oraments, Necklaces.....anyone?
« on: December 02, 2010, 05:20:13 AM »
Anyone have some examples?  Lustrousstone must.

thought I would post this little doggie (Murano) here:
http://www.carters.com.au/index.cfm/item/51911-murano-seguso-uranium-glass-poodle-in-pale-citron-and-red/

Was there ever any Xmas Decorations (balls, or things) made of UV?  That would be Neat....a Glowing Tree

Might just be surprised what we can find  http://www.maineantiquedigest.com/stories/bottles0410-8.jpg

Even Chalet Glass made things in UV too...

Anyone have a Necklace?  I found this link:
http://www.czechglassjewelry.com/products/antique-czech-cut-yellowgreen-uranium-glass-beads-necklace/

....I did not want to post this in the UV one about Headlights....as these are different items

I have plenty of beads (which I wear) and brooches, birds and fish, but no animals (unless you count intaglio ones on ash trays) and no Christmas decorations. Now that would be a thing - a uranium decorated tree.

He is gorgeous Dirk....is he Murano?  And do you have some dimensions.....am I looking at a miniature or a big 'ellie'?

I lived in a place called Toro in East Africa....years ago, and the ellies there made exactly that noise,  so it is probably the same in English, Swahili and German!! :sun:

Rosie, no idea who made him unfortunately.  :-\
He´s ~14,5cm high (< 6"), so I´d say he´s a medium sized baby (because of the big head).  :)

The reason why these are not common is that there is a risk when you wear uranium glass on the skin. So if you do, consider wearing it on a lead turtleneck sweater.
