Butterfly PW and Aventurine
« on: December 18, 2010, 05:09:54 AM »
:hi: there, they say Christmas is a Wonderful time of the Year....and I have to agree.

I bought myself this PW with a Butterfly, and aventurine it in.  It is soooooo very pretty!  I believe it is attributed to Fratelli Toso.  It is my very first PW with a design of a Insect in it.  It has kinda a curved and polished rim on the bottom.  So I just had to Show and Tell.  Any idea of date, or if I am missing any info --

Thanks.  I love this !!!

Now I will have to re-arrange stuff in my China Cabinet over the Holidays...

Hi.  Certainly one of the Murano factories - they have a thing about using aventurine in copious quantities, and don't seem to know the concept of there being 'too much of a good thing'! I would date it to 1960 - 1980.
