Thankyou so much, that is exactly what it is, the satinised surface is very striking. Would you think it might be worth putting on ebay as long as very accurately desscribed and good photos? I could post pictures of the nobbles here.

Yes. Show us the nibbles anyway. More likely to sell on ebay than in a charity shop

There are 3 nibbles, the largest is 6mm top of rim down.
