Seguso or Chinese???
« on: January 21, 2011, 12:34:05 AM »
Is anyone able to confirm if this is a Seguso bird or is it a sticker transferred onto a Chinese piece?

No bird in that link and there are 15 pages of Seguso stuff. Right click on the image, choose copy image location and post that link. That should work

It worked for me last night but is now showing a vase! I can't see the bird from last night anywhere on their listings so perhaps it's been sold (and removed) in the meantime?

I actually queried it late last night and this morning I had a reply.  They have removed it from the listing as they feel the sticker has been added and I thought all along it was one of the Chinese birds I collect!!

Thanks for your input....I think we can put an ID = Chinese after this one and close the book!!

BTW these are the same people I was querying the Exbor Hedgehog they had listed as Murano.  All there correspondence has been very polite and they have made changes when questioned,  but I wish these people would do their own homework!!

Rosie, why not invite them to join us on the board - that way they might learn from what's here. :)

The owner of the store is named Chris and he is very knowledgeable about Murano glass. All of us make the occasional oops. I think we can forgive him one or two. He's been in business for a long time. I've seen a few mistakes along the way, but I also remember a few mistakes I've made.

That's how I felt Anita, Chris was very easy to communicate with and has even offered to sell the items to me at a price I think fair.
I am sure he knows about the GMB Anne, and looking at his other items for sale, I would say he has got them right.

I only knew about the Exbor Hedgehog from this site, as I had posted a ling about one I was bidding for that turned out not to be Exbor, but was lovely all the same,  and the little Chinese birds are something I collect because they are so charming......I know!  I know!!

So once again, thanks for all your help....I learn so much from you all. :kissy:
