Bird with Silver inclusion V Nason FM or plain old Chinese
« on: January 27, 2011, 06:39:09 PM »
Not sure if it comes across in the photo's too well but its clear glass with Silver inclusion the pattern is diamond shaped with bubbles with in them.

Tried to look at Ingela's site but the link's gone from the end of her posts?
The link is on her profile page bit no photos unless you have to be a member and log on to see them?

I think it might be Scandinavian,  Granna glass perhaps??  I have a few very like that one.

Interesting piece. It's very much a Murano technique (the quilted effect with the bubble in the middle), which, of course, would not rule out Marcolin. But not signed would tend to put me in the direction of Nason or some other Murano bird maker.

I'll take some pics of some of my Granna glass birdies with this technique as well so you can see the similarities Chris.  It was Ingela who put me on to them when  I didn't know who they were made by.

I have a picture of an ICET owl made using this technique, but without the silver. So it is another possibility.

Regarding Marcolin: sometimes there is only a label, sometimes a label and a signature.

I have deleted my albums. I won’t go into details, but something happened, and as a result of this I decided to delete my albums.

Chris, I have a photo of my little FM Marcolin silver chicken, thought I had some more photos but I can’t find them at the moment. You can also have a look here at some more FM chickens.
