Hello all
I aquired this lovely bowl on Friday from a fair and it is decorated with frosted panels at the end with a Deco lady.
The plinth came with it and is a perfect fit it has a number impressed to the base of 2610.
I have never seen this bowl before and wondered if anyone had any clues about its origins please?
Thanks in advance Nige

Hi Nige

Sorry I cannot help with maker, I did have one for a couple of years in green but thats now in Australia.
I always thought it may be Czech but that was only a wild guess.

just as an idle thought - and to encourage the more knowledgable - if you read the Bowey and Parsons Bagley book (the section on Plinths and Bases that ARE NOT BAGLEY)  -there is mention of similar Nos.      Sowerby and Jobling are suggested names for these Four figure digit Nos. that are in the area close to yours.    Incidentally, are you positive that your No. is 2610? :)

Hi all, according to Pamela's website, this bowl is by Stölzle (Czech):

Hi to you all
Thanks very much for the input.
The dealer wondered about Sowerby for the plinth as they mentioned Sowerby numbered their bases,it is definately 2610 it is a very good embossed number.
The lady on the ends remind me of some other ladies I have seen but cannot think off the top pf my head.Stolze did some gorgeous glass I would never have guessed that!!!
Thanks once again!
