Topic: Information request

Hello everyone,

I have joined this forum today, hoping for some information on 3 pieces of glassware that I have been given in the will of a distant relative.  I am not a collector myself, nor are my friends, and once identified and priced, I am hoping they will be found a good home.

They are very heavy clear glass - one bowl, one vase and one table lamp.  A friend said they may be 'Cristal de Sevres' but could not be sure, so I have attached photographs.

Could anyone identify the pieces and be prepared to give me a rough valuation?

Hi John and welcome to the board. Could you please post just one item per request, multiple requests are fine (so long as you keep it to less than 4 or 5 at a time.) This is for 2 reasons: 1. so we don't get confused about which item we're talking about with several people answering, and 2. so that when they are identified we can move the topic to the proper resolved area of the board. I can confirm that all three are most probably Sèvres. I recognise item no. 1, no 2 could also have been made under a different brand name in the same factory, and no. 3 is just a very high probability.  Cristal de Sèvres is the brand name of products by Daum produced in Vannes - and these could have been made any time in the 1980s thru recently. Usually the underside is marked with a vague etch stamp - but not always.  Not sure if there is an aftermarket for Sèvres (French glass tends to disappoint in realised value) but it should be possible to find realised prices on ebay. Check not just for Sèvres but also for Vannes.
