Topic: posy bowl,by powell,c1900.????

please can anybody help with id of my posy bowl.height;6cm.width at base;12cm.width at top;14cm.pontil on base.many thanks mike.

Looks English to me,attribution to a particular factory may be difficult,word of warning :ooh:....if you say it has a pontil on the base you'll get a telling off(mentioning no names) it should be pontil mark or scar,very nice piece

Pontil mark isn't the problem. It's pontil on it's own; a pontil is an iron rod! And I can't see one of those  :24:

Without a closer look these are difficult to attribute , i would say without doubt English and the contenders being Powell Webb or Walsh , Powell tend to be thinner and lighter than Webb i am not so sure about Walsh as i havnt had many of theirs in recent years , i will try to get the books out over the weekend , i dont suppose you are near Cambridge as the fair is on this Sunday and you could get a definite answer there or try www.whitefriars.com  Steve Leslie is in the chair on that type of glass .
ps . and how could i forget Nigel Benson     but i may try   :hi:

There's always the glass fair at motor cycle museum Birmingham
