Grasshopper weathervane coaster, marked but who?
« on: March 03, 2011, 10:04:46 PM »
I assume this is a coaster; it seems to shallow for anything else. It's pressed with a grasshopper weathervane design and is marked with a "P" in a diamond, but I can't find who P is. I can't even decide how old it might be. 9 cm in diameter.

Can anyone help please.

You may find an AW around the edge thats for Alvin A White a sculptor engraver and gunsmith who was the artist who engraved the moulds .The first one was national council of state garden clubs 1974 . the first fifty went up to 1978 . I cant find yours in the first fifty . Yes white was a leading gunsmith who made gold and silver inlaid guns for Samuel Colt . Anther piece of useless info from jp . :hi:

I don't think there's any AW, but it might be 1980s, as I found other weathervane plates from that decade. Thanks JP
