id request for shallow amethyst bowl.
« on: March 29, 2011, 08:20:56 PM »
this is the other one from this morning, and since I'm unsure of maker, have posted in Glass.   Doesn't have that W/Fs. 'ding', or even quality of glass, and polished pontil mark is quite small in comparison with the size of bowl.       No marks that I can see, and diameter is something like 12.1/8"  -  310mm.    Although I've never seen an amethyst bowl like this before, I'd plump for Webb (who knocked out a lot of wares in this colour)  -  and who didn't always, apparently, back stamp their pieces.            OR, might it be Richardson perhaps.    Anyway, great looking piece  -  provide you have half a shelf to devote to one bowl ;D    Grateful for any thoughts and thanks for looking.  :)
