....also can you give us another pic to try to make it out -- as I think I see maybe a L, or a M, or even a A.  Try taking a few pics and post to give us some more examples to go on.

HERE IS MORE PICTURES of two compotes. The marks are same on each compote, only one has an oval, another not. I am sorry, the pictures are not good size.
