Art Deco Blue Vase Maker
« on: April 01, 2011, 01:44:06 AM »
Hello,
I'm trying to figure out the maker of an Art Deco style blue glass vase and could really use some help. The vase measures 8-1/4" tall, 2-1/2" in diameter at lip, 5-1/2" in diameter at widest and 3-1/4" in diameter at base. The lower body has a tiered or ribbed design and the base is slightly concave with a polished pontil in the center. The base also shows signs of several years of wear. Here are some photos of the vase:

The glass is quite light and thin but has excellent color and workmanship. Any info or ideas as to the maker and age of this vase would be truly appreciates. Thank you for your help and time.

Sincerely, Blake

I wouldn't say that it was Art Deco more 60s or 70s in its style and colouring.

:hi: Blake, it'd be worth adding where you are to your profile as that sometimes helps our thinking. Either a continent or country can help.

Dear Anne,    Thanks for the advice; I added the information to my profile. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. The problem with that is, while location does often helps, San Antonio is the number one choice of retirement locations for ex-military personel so you find stuff here from all over the country as well as all over the world.
In re the Art Deco in the post title, I meant to add the word "style" in the title as I did in the actual post. The vase is indeed very characteristic of 1960's art glass.

Thank you!

Yours, Blake
