I found an unusual antique Bell Jar or Cloche about two months ago and so far have not been able to find any information about it. It's very different from the usual all glass domes with glass handle you see quite often.
The glass bell portion of the jar jar measures 3-1/4" tall, 1-1/2" in diameter at base and the flared lip measures 2-3/4" in diameter. The glass at the lip is 1/4" thick and the glass portion is like an inverted cup with a full glass bottom.
Instead of having a glass handle or knob, attached to the glass bottom is a 1-1/2" in diameter by 1/4" thick cast iron disc with a 1" in diameter cast iron ball handle in the center. Added all together the jar measures 5" tall to the top of the ball. Here are photos:

Any ideas as to age and/or maker would be very much appreciated.
Sincerely, Blake
