Hi all
This piece has a label on the base but is it genuine ?? if so any ideas on factory ?
Now i actually quite like this this although I'm not quite sure what it is, I'm guessing its a candlestick holder due to the opening.
It stands at 13cm tall, 9/10cm in diameter and weighs 1500g.
The label on the base is quite worn (more washed off than worn off) Looks as though it was originally green and silver, the middle says Made in Italy, around the top i can make out ANO and the bottom GLAS, which would obviously be Murano Glass, the second label is handwritten Murano 50 I assume this was somebodies price label (i certainly didnt pay that much).
Does anybody know anything about this piece?
many thanks michelle

Michelle, the label is a Fratelli Toso one. It was originally dark blue and silver. The label was used early 1950s-late 1970s, so it doesn't help much to zero in on the time. I'm not sure what it is. Perhaps as you suggested a votive? Or the opening may just be for optic effect?

many thanks Anita, do you think the piece is actually by Fratelli Toso then? I was quite doubtful that the sticker was original to the piece.
I will have a good search and see if i can find another one similar, I hadnt found anything under Murano, fingers crossed there will be one under Toso
many thanks
michelle

Glad you found another. The object does look like Fratelli Toso work. The label is probably original.
