Help with maker's mark ID on milk glass!
« on: April 29, 2011, 08:05:29 PM »
I'm trying to identify a maker's mark on the base of a milk glass jar, probably cosmetics of some sort. I'm not able to take a photo of it, but I've attached an image showing the mark. It's a monogram of "S S" over/behind a "W". It is very similar to a mark used by the S. S. White Co. (dental supplies) but not quite the same, maybe a variation? If any of you here have heard of or seen such a mark, I'd appreciate any info!

Yeah, no. The style of the font has a smaller curve at the top of the "s". I'm reading it the right way.

Maybe it is an older Milk glass item for a Dentist....as that is possible.  Can you post a pic of the Item, and of the mark....Thanks ;)
