Small Sommerso Ewer...
« on: April 30, 2011, 04:44:24 AM »
Bought this from the local charity shop near work for a couple of dollars. 7.5cm tall brown/amber sommerso ewer. Oddly, it has water staining in it. Why would you use something so small. The clear glass has a yellow green/blue'ish tint to it but it doesn't really show up in the pics. Have tried a black light and it is not UV reactive (unless the black light is a dud). Any idea on country of origin? I was thinking murano of course but scandi could be an option.

Creamer possibly? or perhaps has been used for tiny flowers like violets? Intended purpose and actual usage don't always match up of course. :)

I am not a "flower type" person, but I agree with Anne's thoughts about violets, which I think would look really cool in that mini jug with the subtle colouring. ;D
