I'm not sure what it says on the side, although I agree it looks like Amos, but this looks very like a piece by Ioan Tubi Vadan!  He's a Rumanian glass artist, who incorporates metal into his glass in this way.   I have a piece of his work, which is just signed 'Vadan'.  Look on the back or the base and see if yours is signed somewhere.

????

Not sure, but the Circle around the lettering looks like a letter too (at least to me) -- it looks like a BIG *G* that goes around the other letters.

Maybe something like GROMAY, or GREANEY ??

The last letter also looks like a *Y* to me.  But those are guesses......but it looks like the oval around the other letters, might NOT be an Oval, but another letter, IMHO

Are the swirly bits metal or metallic glass?  Is the "Amos" bit also metal or glass?

If both are metal I suspect that that name may be that of the product originally in the item.
