Clear Glass Vase
« on: May 29, 2011, 05:02:01 PM »
Hello all

I have this clear glass vase that stands 7 3/4" tall and is nearly 41/2" wide at the top.  The photos don't really do it justice, it's very heavy and has very well defined ribs.  It rings like a bell if "pinged" and refracts light extremely well.  No bubbles and the base is worn.

Hi there  :hi:

Not sure if it is, but throwing this out there -- Could it be FOSTORIA ??  Does it kinda look the same as this one, but it is in green?  The measurements are kinda  close to yours too -- but this is just a suggestion.  I am not sure -- but kinda looks (and reminds me) of the same, IMHO ?????????  Just a guess....????????

Hi Rose

Thanks for that but it doesn't have the same wavy top edge, it feels European to me (I'm British living in the States).  And I try to weed out European stuff rather than US so my second collection (my first wonderful collection of European glass I'll never see again ) is growing extremely slowly.  Also it's pretty dull vase-wise so I don't really expect any news!
