New Mdina Side Stripe
« on: June 02, 2011, 04:47:14 PM »
Hi All,

A few pics of my new Mdina Side Stripe that arrived today  :). Seems to have a few features that suggest its pretty early in date, any thoughts appreciated.

Thanks,

Greg

Very nice Greg.

Does the prunt have a Maltese Cross stamped in it? It looks very well made, lovely proportions.... ;D
I have only seen that sticker on Harris period work so far.

How tall is it?

John

Hi John,

Thanks. The prunt does have the Maltese cross impressed. It measures around 12cm tall and just under 12cm at its widest.

Slightly smaller than the later side stripe I have.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Greg

I don't remember seeing one with a cross before, the earlier versions do seem to be smaller, this one is roughly 10 by 10cm: https://picasaweb.google.com/Johnmj100/EarlyMdinaGlass#5579154610127481202

I would like a nice greeny blue one too.

 :hi:
I haven't got much to add - I agree with all John says, nice early one, cloudy greeny effects, button-rim.
I can only find 2 of mine right now - I'm sure I've got a "fat" one somewhere, but as I can't find it, I can't check for a prunt - the two I can find do not have one.

I haven't anything to add to John and Sue's posts, except it's gorgeous!       I've not got a nice button rimmed green/blue side stripe   I've not seen a prunted one - another to add to my wishlist .
