Here's that paperweight I referred to

It's a real stunner by Jim Hart! :shock:
We 'discovered' Jim at a meeting of the Paperweight Collectors' Circle last year, when he and his wife came over from the US to give the group a talk and show us his weights. He brought a large number with him, all of which he sold, and he took orders for many more. He was then doing both Millefiori weights with some silhouette canes and some rose canes, and making some all rose weights. I think he was pleasantly surprised at how popular they were! :wink: :lol:
He sells mainly on ebay, and I keep an eye on what he does there. He is currently specialising in the 'Clichy' style rose weights, and I was absolutely enchanted with this one :shock: According to Jim, he had a lucky 'mistake' :? with a batch of glass that he described as 'tan' in colour. However, in the paperweight the roses came out a beautiful peach colour!

Jim said in the ebay description that he had enough of the 'tan' glass to make about 3 weights, but he wasn't sure if he would be able to reproduce it again after that - so of course the bidding went wild, with the weight fetching about twice what his weights usually go for! :shock: And I got lucky! :lol: :roll: Another of the weights - slightly different set-up - was on ebay last night, and also went sky-high :shock: (Sorry to see you missed that one, Simone!

)
Jim has recently been expermenting with lampwork and is soon (after the Milleville paperweight event at Wheaton Village from May 18th - 21st) going to be offering these! :shock:

:
And I would like to tell everyone that not only is Jim Hart a highly talented glass artist, he is a lovely, lovely man!
