??? Chipped Ashtray - but who ???
« on: June 14, 2011, 02:05:12 AM »
 :hi: there:

I found this the other day too, and sadly it has a chip on the bottom.  I do not care, as I think I will *use* this one  :sm: as we talked about in the Cafe.  It is a very pretty color of blue, and weighs a TON!!  It has been well used over the years as around all the notches for the smokes you can see scratches even there, and on the bowl. The pics do not do it Justice as it is such a pretty blue.

Any ideas on the year, and the maker?   About 6 inches wide, and 4 inches tall.

Thanks everyone for any help on this!  I do believe it has some age to it, and not  :or:  .....And I do not care that it has a chip on the bottom, as I plan to Use this - and I paid less than a $1.00 for it -- so no lost cause

Thanks
:fwr: Rose

Hi Rose...  It was designed by Adolf Matura for Libochovice in 1962, pattern number 983.
I've also got one  :)https://picasaweb.google.com/105348959949603419807/CzechPressedGlassCollection#5593653154552294546

  Thanks Anik for the positive ID on it, and the Speedy response !!

I figured it was something well made, and not  :or: and had some age to it.  Thanks again for the positive ID on it, that is Super!!  Love your colored ashtray too.  Since mine has a chip on the bottom -- I AM going to use this one.

Super Info - Anik!!!

 :chky: Hi there:

I found another one of these (but in purple) on the weekend at a garage sale.  Will post as soon as I get the pics loaded to the computer here.  It is in better shape than the other one --- and paid a total price for it of -- -- -- -- -->  .25 cents.     ;D

thanks Anik.

I should *confess*.  :spls2:  It was not with all the garage stuff on the table, but rather the people were using at their Garage Sale.  So I asked *IF* they wanted to sell it --- then they said "Sure.... only .25 cents."

So basically in was in use at their outdoor garage sale - but I inquired - and they said sure and for that price !!!

Moral of the story
When I am around at a garage sale and your using a piece of glass I may want -- So either Sell it, or Hide it.......LOL  :24: :24:
