Topic: Show and tell - Kralik Crackle and Welz yellow stripe

I was out and about today at the Giant Flea and came away slightly disappointed that I didn't find a 'special' piece, which is what I'd been hoping for (although finding the little Isle Of Wight Studio bowl was good enough this week  :rah:).  However I did pick up two Bohemian pieces - the first a large Kralik crackle vase 10" tall and 4" wide and weighing about 1 1/2lb that would have been 'the' piece if it hadn't had nibbles in the rim, the second a pretty Welz vase with alternate straight and zigzag stripes and a yellow interior, a decor and colourway I hadn't yet found  :hiclp:

I love the Welz piece....  the decor is called Zig Zag Lines... many of them dart back and forth a bit.... Great Decor.... So far only found in this color combo and also green and white.....

Nice Kralik too.... although I am partial to the Welz piece myself.... :thup:

Keith, how tall is the Kralik orange you show? I was hoping *I'd* found the biggest piece of crackle :cry: 
  I also have this in a short squat vase shape - it's a gorgeous colour.

Beat me on that :cry:mine's only 7.5 inches tall,the bowl is a bit bigger at 9.5 across,I'm on the hunt Wednesday so who knows what' will turn up

OOOh,veeerrrry nice,great piece of Mdina there and is that an African carving?also like the oriental looking table,got a few African and eastern pieces myself,need bigger house!

Thanks  :sun: the carving is  well over 2ft tall. It's a Makonde carving from Tanzania from a hardwood like ebony, I think called Mpingo wood if I remember correctly.  It is full of people and has a lizard and snake on it as well.  It stands on a carved table that I need to find out more about.
